Bears Coat Drive
(September 7 - December 4)

The Chicago Bears/Jewel-Osco 22nd Annual Coat Drive will begin September 7, 2010 and will continue through December 4th, 2010. The Coat Drive will benefit The Salvation Army and public schools in the Chicagoland area.

My family is in need of help with food ,clothing,coats and holiday/christmas help.Last April (2009)my husband who has worked hard for our family injured his shoulder and had to have an operation this past feb. (2010) ,disability wasnt dependable at all we recieved like 1 third of his pay about once every six weeks .It really put a burden on us he was put of work for months before and after the surgery and we fell behind in everything.We lost alot of things and are living with his mom .Hes been trying to catch up on everything since he went back to work but it just seems to get worse and we found out in october that the operation wasnt done correctly and needs repaired again.Again causing him to miss time at work for dr appts.,mri's,arthrograms and other medical reasons.Were now waiting for the Dr. to call with the surgery date.I dont know how were going to make it ,i tried to apply for work but have heard nothing back.We have 4 children ,our oldest is 20 he lives on his own now.My other 3 are 16,12 and 5.I found 1 church that has a food pantry once a month ,while that has helped it doesnt help with clothing household items,dental services or christmas .I tried the Salation army,coats for kids ,santa anon.churches,toys for tots and SS. etc.. and b/c were arent on welfare none will help us.My husband applied online for food stamps and they told him he qaulified then turned him away when he went to the appt.I dont know what to do my children have outgrown their clothes,they need coats badly n i feel so bad that i cant go buy them new ones ,even at my local thrift stores they run ten to twenty dollars its terrible that i cant even afford any.Last year they barely had a christmas and its going to be the same this year.I know christmas isnt about gifts but i would like them to have something under the tree.I m in Maryland and praying someone sees this and can help us.Anything would be greatly appreciated.

IAM OUT OF WORK AND MY HUSBAND IS LEGALLY BLIND AND DISABLED, HE DOES RECIEVE A DISABILITY CHECK

AND MY CHILDREN RECIEVE A SMALL CHECK FROM HIS DISABILITY, BUT IT'S JUST BARELY

 ENOUGH TO COVER THE BILLS AND LIVING EXPENSES,PLUS CREDIT CARD DEBT.

WE HAVE HAD TO ASK FOR FOOD FROM THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER
